Oregon 2007

  • Beach_whoa
John and I went to Oregon at the end of June 2007. We both competed in the the USAT Nationals - the amateur triathlon national championship - in a small town west of Portland. After the race we drove through some beautiful woodsy mountains to see the Oregon coast. This album has a few pictures before the race, and about a million of John riding a horse on the beach.

Wickedly Scarlett

You've got to admire her passion though--whatever it is she's passionate about. I've often joked about doing something like this when I've been treated like crap by someone in the customer service biz, but never had the balls (or quite frankly, the time) to make it happen!

I saw someone hanging off an overpass during my commute with a posterboard sign that said "Yes on 8." I thought Prop. 8 was the solar energy bill that the solar energy people say No on. So I was confused about why a regular citizen would care enough to hang off of an overpass to support Big Energy solar power or whatever that proposition covers. Um, guess that is Prop. 7. As the rest of the state knows, Prop. 8 is the I Enjoy Spreading Hate & Intolerance proposition. Something along those lines anyway. Still not sure why a sane, reasonable human being would feel the need to expose that sign, but at least I do understand the passion now. Not sure that standing near a high ledge is a good place to be if you're going to hold a controversial sign though...
